Canon PowerShot® SD700 IS served me well

This camera replaced my first digital camera (some bulky 3mp Toshiba PDR with 1" display). It gave me a great sense of freedom to make a shot anytime anywhere, since it's small size allowed to always keep it with me, and fast shutter speed allowed to take advantage of any photo opportunity that came my way.
Buying this camera prevented me from buying camcorder, since I now can shoot both pictures and movies. Although movie quality is below of average camcorder, it's quite satisfactory with me, and the bundled software allows further editing. Image stabilization feature helps when making pictures on the spur of the moment or under low light conditions.
Camera uses rechargeable battery that allows approximately 200 shots per charge, which could be even more if using solely viewfinder(rare feature nowadays). It was sturdy enough to survive 2 drops to a concrete ground. The first resulted in couple of minor scratches. Second time I was less lucky and managed to dislocate one of the viewfinder's lens, but the functionality was left intact. Also worth mentioning is a long shutter mode, allowing more opportunities to shoot during the night.
Disadvantages
No battery life meter. Only alerts when very little battery life left.
High ISO noise in low light.
LCD screen gets covered with oil film, which affects the quality of picture viewing.
Movie length is limited to 12min/1Gb per clip.
It can't compete with SLRs in blurring the out-of focus background.I could achieve depth of field only in macro mode.
