I Love My Egg-Mobile

Date of Review:  Jul 5, 2000
Review: Okay, my car isn't a 99, It's a 96. The reason I am posting, though, is that I feel my opinion is valuable since I have been driving this car for a long time. I can be a good judge on how reliable it is.

Our family is not the type to trade...

I love my rollerskate with an engine!

Date of Review:  Sep 29, 2000
Review: The Chevy Metro is a great car. I have owned my 1999 Metro for a little over a year, and, knock on wood, have never had a problem with it. This car is perfect for me because I am a very small person (4ft. 11 in.) so I need a small car, and my seat...

Chevrolet/Geo Metro

Date of Review:  Oct 3, 1999
Review: If all you care about is low purchase cost and high gas mileage, welcome home!

I had this car a week as a rental car. My first impression was "I hope I don't hit something as I might not survive". This car is small!. And the hood length is...

There are a lot of better options out there.

Date of Review:  Jul 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: This car is no longer sold in the US, and if you're looking for a used car, I would suggest looking at a used Echo, Prism, Civic, Sephia or Protege.
Review: The Chevy Metro sedan is a cousin of the Suzuki Esteem sedan, built in a joint factory in Canada. Most are destined for rental fleets, but there were some of us who needed a tiny car with good gas mileage that sat four persons. The Metro sedan is...

Chevy Metro - Okay....For A Tin Can

Date of Review:  Oct 21, 2000
The Bottom Line: A bargain auto with bargain quality.
Review: The Chevy Metro is a good car in some ways, and not so good in other ways. Overall, it's an okay car, but that may not satisfy you if some of the individual negatives are more than you can stand. In my case, that's true, and that's why I'd never own...

You get what you pay for

Date of Review:  Feb 28, 2001
The Bottom Line: Fun car with manual transmission, excellent gas mileage. BUT AC can't keep up with torrid heat of the south. Loud engine noise. Best for city commute.
Review: I bought a Chevy Metro in 99' for commuting purposes. I drive 20 miles each way, and wanted a car that would't drink all the gas it could.

It that respect, the car performed well, with an average of 38-39 MPG with the manual transmission...

These make a nice first car...

Date of Review:  Feb 12, 2003
The Bottom Line: As a commuter car these work wonderfully...but don't buy one for the power.
Review: ...But you probably will want to upgrade after awhile. I drive a 99' Geo Metro. I am only 21, but after driving this car for a few years, I really want something more powerful and safe, that is higher up off of the ground.
My Geo is a 4...

Don't Hate on the Metro

Date of Review:  Jul 6, 2007
The Bottom Line: I recommend this car due to the great gas mileage, maneuverability, low cost, good amount of space in back with seat folded down.
Review: I have been driving my Chevy Metro LSI since August 2002. I have driven it from Los Angeles to Chicago, from Chicago to St. Louis and all kinds of other places. I have to commute 1 1/2 hours- 2 hours each way to work 5 days a week and still love my...

Great little piece of junk!

Date of Review:  Nov 13, 2002
The Bottom Line: Good Gas Decent Trunk Too Much Money Not Enough Room.
Review: This car gets great gas mileage and is great for commuting. It has a very nice sized trunk for how small the car is. I have a 4 door automatic. Now the size on the rest of the car stinks...DO NOT BUY THIS CAR FOR A FAMILY!!! It should only be used...

Big things come in small packages

Date of Review:  Jan 25, 2000
Review: The biggest gas saver is in the small package of a Metro. I am the happy owner of a 99 Metro. This is the second one I've owned. If you want great gas mileage and a nice little commuter car the Metro is the answer.
I have gotten over 50 miles to...
