I have been a member of City of Heroes since its release. (A little over 4 years now.) I absolutely love this game. The graphics are outstanding, the mind stimulation is great, and you are able to communicate with people from around the world.
This is a fantasy type game. I have tried several others, and none have been able to stimulate my interest like City of Heroes.
The character selection is great. Everything from the character type to the costumes to the powers are very customizable. I have always created a female character. It is almost like I can make her what I would like to be. As I said, it is a fantasy. While it is rated 14 and older, there is nothing really bad in the game. It's not gorey or extremely violent.
You select missions appropriate for you level and by completing these missions, you gain experience. The highest achievable level is 50. I now have 2 characters that are level 50. The fun does not stop there though. You can still get missions where you can fight bad guys who are up to level 54. So it is still a challenge. Although you will not gain more experience after level 50, you still gain influence.
Influence is what you use to change your costume, buy enhancements for your powers, or inspirations that help you while you are fighting.
Overall, City of Heroes is a great MMORPG that has a low monthly fee with a high entertainment level. If you are an avid gamer, this is the game for you!
