How Noise Cancellation Can Go Wrong

Well, the last 5 are true, the first 3 are lies.
The sound is dull and without good bass or treble. I spent a lot of time comparing Coby to the other headphones I use. The sensitivity of Coby is the worst, even lower compared to my cheap (freebies) MP3 player headphones. Despite the 113 dB sensitivity claimed on the Coby's package.

But here is the kicker: as soon as the noise canceling circuitry is turned on, the headphones provide extra amplified noise, the opposite to what it should be doing. What a joke. Probably a design snafu. Or maybe the drivers connected out of phase. Instead of being recalled, these got to discount stores and sold to unexpecting customers. I will return them the first chance I get.

The only nice thing going for these is the fact that the headphones fit nicely and are comfortable to wear.

I checked the Coby’s website and this model is still proudly displayed. Someone should tell them the bed news. I have never heard of this brand but the lesson is stay away as they make all kinds of consumer electronics.
