Great Little Propane Grill

The Coleman Roadtrip LXE Grill is a nice "portable" sized propane grill that can fold down to a compact size with wheels and a pull handle. The grill comes with an adapter for 16.4 oz propane bottles but an adapter is available to be purchased separately to accommodate larger propane tanks. The small propane bottle sits nicely on the back of the grill on a small cradle. The grill itself has a locking metal lid with a plastic handle. It also has two small side tables that slide out from underneath the grill.

The cooking mechanism of the grill consists of two 10,000 BTU burners that can be individually lit. The grill has a push button lighter that works very well with just one push, and the grill surface consists of two iron plates that are removable. There are also griddle plates and a wire stove top adapter available. The grill cleans up very easily. Besides the easy to remove grill plates, the bottom of the grill is a smooth stainless surface that drains into a removable cup. Cleanup is as easy as wiping down the drip pan and then taking out the cup.

We bought the grill to take to the beach and picnics. The folding mechanism is very easy to use, and the grill rolls smoothly. It cooks very well and heats up quickly. The heat is easy to control with flow knobs for each burner.

The only problems with the Roadtrip LXE grill is that it is a bit heavy so hauling up and down stairs is a bit difficult. The lid is also fairly shallow so the lid can't be closed while cooking items that are large/tall. There is also no built in thermometer in the lid (that's if you even think those things work). The wheels of the grill are also made out of plastic. We haven't had problems with it yet but it could be of higher quality.

Overall, we are very happy with the Roadtrip LXE grill. The grill cooks very well and ours even came with a grill cover.
