Good basic seat

We have used this car seat in our primary car (minivan) for almost two years now. It has served us very well and now our second child is using it.

I picked out this car seat for our baby registry because it seemed to be a great value.

I was surprised that my son had to be 34 inches tall before we could switch him from rear-facing to forward-facing. He was 2 years old before we could switch it around. Of course, I know that rear facing is safer, but his legs were starting to have to be bent so it was nice when he could finally be forward facing. Apparently, all Cosco car seats have the 34 inch requirement. Other brands don't have this high limit.

Now that we have another similar car seat (we bought a high back booster which goes to 100 pounds for our son), I realize that the cover on this car seat has a lot of elastic loops to hold it on. Not a big problem, but it does take some time to remove and replace the seat cover. I was just happy that I could wash to cover so easily. The fabric has held up well through the two years of use and probably six washings.

It is easy to adjust the straps, although you have to be careful that they don't get twisted (same goes for our new Evenflo model).

My son likes the cup holder; it has held up well.
This seat doesn't feel very soft to me, but my son seems fine with it.
