Steer Clear

Pros: When it works, it works as advertised

Cons: Obvious Problems with heating element.

The Bottom Line: My advise, steer clear of this unit until heating element and engineering is redesigned.

I am now working on my third unit. The first one lost an element and the certified repair center waited for over two months to get a part from Italy. It never came. After much ballyhoo, we finally had to call, beg and bully DeLonghi to send the part. They decided it would be easier to send a new unit. The new unit arrived as promised but had the same problem after two months and we are now in the process of trying to get it repaired or replaced.

Another problem with this unit is that the "Cool-Touch" basket handle does not stay cool. Although not hot enough to burn, it could startle the unsuspecting causing problems.
