A good car for the price
Pros:
Plenty of horsepower and gas mileage. Lots of room in the trunk and rear seats.
Cons:
Big plastic dash. The chrome shifter does shine the sunlight into your eyes.
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this vehicle especially if you are looking for an economical vehicle under $20,000, with great gas mileage.

Author's Review
My wife is a sales rep. for a major chain. She was offered several cars as her work vehicle. She picked the Avenger because it had several features that made her life easier.
The Exterior
The number one thing on her list was trunk space. The Avenger is about 182 inches long, 40 inches is trunk space. If you fold down the rear seats it gives you another 3 feet of space.
It is very stylish with great lines. Simular to it's big brother the Charger. Four doors is a must these days. The thing that we noticed is the doors are wide in the back so you can get things in and out without the doors being in the way.
The engine in ours is the 2.4 L which is great on gas mileage. We get about 32 miles per gallon highway driving. The gas tank is 16 gallons so you get upwards of 450 miles to a tank. The claims are 173 horsepower. We live in the rocky mountain area and we never worry about gettting up a hill.
The tires are R-215/65 R16 standard. These are tires that have been around a long time so replacement cost are not as expensive as the 17 and 18 inch wheels.
Interior
Room to spare, lots of leg room in the back seat. They have thought of a lot of extras to put in the cab. Heated and cooled drink holders, moveable center arm rest, easy to see gauges and controls, fingertip control on the steering wheel, plenty of cubby holes, and vanity mirrors on each visor. My wife likes the cloth dry weave seats they are easy to clean and as she says,"they don't make you sweat." One of the safety features she likes is the "bluetooth" and Ipod connections.
The interior is fairly quiet, however if there is a wind outside it does get some noise coming through.
My wife last car was the Sebring. She said it used to hurt her back when she would be driving all day. But in the Advenger she hasn't had that problem.
My opinion
If you are looking for luxury vehicle this is not the vehicle. But if you are looking for a very well built, economical vehicle at a low price this is it. Comparing "apples to apples" I don't think you can find a vehicle under $20,000 with as many standard features as this.
