Ebony Magazine: An African American Historic Treasure

Ebony magazine is a treasure that has been passed down from mother to daughter, and from father to son. It's articles are geared to African Americans. The articles cover their likes and dislikes, the celebrities they are watching, and the way to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.

This magazine also is an excellent indication of from whence we have come.

Whereas in the sixties it covered our struggles, and our fight for freedom. Today it looks back on the fight we were fighting then, and then ways it which our conditions have improved, as well as the journey we still have to take.

The cover of the current months issue focuses on black love, and the who's who couples of Hollywood. It is not a gossip type magazine, yet keeps us up-to-date of the what our people our doing.

The articles vary, covering many of the same titles in general magazines, but zooming in a way that covers how certain issues effect our race. For instance, the current issue has articles on black chefs and black designers. This is important to show that we are out there, and to be able to put black faces on these career paths so that our children know they truly can be anything.

Ebony has grown up with us through the years. It's subscriptions have been passed down from generation to generation, and will continue to be.
