Exceptional earphones - ER-6i's provide the best sound for mid-priced Canalphones

Date of Review:  Aug 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: Exceptional canalphones - though not the Etymotic ER-4S, purchasers wanting a canalphone suitable with an un-amped portable mp3 player won't be disappointed.
Review: I've had many earphones over the years, from the humble Sennheiser MX400's and Sony EX71's to the more expensive Etymotics.

But I've been wanting a pair of earphones I can travel with - not a $400 pair but something a little bit cheaper...

ER-6i Excellent Noise Isolation, Wonderful Sound

Date of Review:  Mar 1, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you fly a lot (or even a little) get these earphones. They bring noise isolation to a level you won't believe and the sound is to die for.
Review: The ER-6i is a newer version of the ER-6. It comes in white (to match your iPod), offers more sound isolation (3 rubber rings instead of two) and has slightly higher bass response than the 6.

I have a pair of Sennheiser noise canceling...

Sound and Silence...How to hear Mozart at a Rock Concert

Date of Review:  Mar 13, 2006
The Bottom Line: Excellent noise blocking, good sound, and small package great for traveling. But if you don't like "earplug" design, or socialize while you listen, these won't be for you.
Review: Etymotic Research ER-6i "isolator" earphones are in-canal, "earplug" type headphones. They are intended for the high-quality reproduction of music while blocking out background sounds in noisy environments. Without going any farther, I can say that...

Not The Best For Everybody...But Still Great

Date of Review:  Nov 20, 2005
The Bottom Line: Some of people won't find these to be worth the money, because they don't have the ear for it. Maybe I'm one of them. Superb for the others, though.
Review: Ever been in that awkward social situation where somebody wants to "share" an earbud with you so that you can both hear something? I often wonder what exactly makes that so uncomfortable. Is it the idea of intermingling ear-wax? Probably. But...

Attenuation is the word

Date of Review:  Jun 19, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you want a reasonably priced in ear monitor, you won't find much better.
Review: I've owned my 6i's for about 5 months now. I use them all day, every day at work with my Creative Zen Touch. I do like these very much. They're my first pair of in-canal headphones (IEMs, or In-Ear-Monitors).

The first thing that struck me...

Growing on me!

Date of Review:  Jul 12, 2005
The Bottom Line: Buy these with the right expectations, and reserve some time to get them fitting right and to learn to appreciate them. Doubt you can do much better!
Review: Having only read positive reviews of these headphones, I had to give them a try. When I got them out of the package, I had great expectations. However, my first impressions were very disappointing.

First impressions :(

I am satisfied; give 'em a try

Date of Review:  Nov 29, 2006
The Bottom Line: These phones are good buy for their quality of sound, not exactly what is advertised, but still very worth it. Shop around. These really do have great sound.
Review: I bought my Etymotic research er6i's about a year ago. I use them pretty frequently and I like them. They block ambient sound well and they are lightweight. Take a little amount of time to get used to. Apparently in some countries they come with a...

Oooh the fancy earphones

Date of Review:  Jan 24, 2009
The Bottom Line: Bass heads should avoid, but if you can enjoy your "sounds" at a low volume this is a great choice.
Review: What you should take away from this review.
The ER-6i is in a different class from most cheap headphones. If your headphones normally cost U$20 or less, these have much better sound. Once you try the ER-6i, you will not be able to enjoy cheap...

FIRST REVIEW FOR ER-6i ^^

Date of Review:  Sep 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: I recommend it for Travellers, Business men, Students, and Audiophiles for good sound.

Best Headphones I Have Used

Date of Review:  May 7, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you value great sound and like to listen to music for long periods of time, these are unparalleled in terms of comfort, noise isolation, and sound quality.
Review: Sound Quality: I received these as a gift and was told that the sound reproduction and quality was amazing. I soon tried these and had to agree. These are one of the best headphones I have used as far as sound quality.

Comfort: I...
