Author's Review
Back in December of 2002 I was in the market for a new vacuum. The old upright I had was just not up to par. The house I am living in has vinyl flooring, carpeting, a woodburner and many nooks and crannies. I decided a canister vacuum was a "necessity". I had my heart set on a Kenmore canister with a power carpet/floor tool. However, a lightweight/compact design was needed as I wanted to use this vacuum to vacuum out my car from time to time. And I decided that the Kenmore would be too big and heavy to haul outside, if even in rare instances. Enter the Eureka Mighty Mite 3670!
After giving up on the Kenmore, I decided to go to the local discount retailer and see what they had in the way of canister vacuums. They only had one type (yep you guessed it), the Eureka Mighty Mite. I read the features and studied the picture on the box for a bit. It had everything I wanted (but the power carpet/floor tool, oh well you can't have EVERYthing). And the price was definately right. So I took it home, tried it out and have been hooked ever since! Now let's talk about some of the features.
The 9.0 amp motor is more than sufficient. It does a wonderful job on carpets, and the handy "combination" tool is great for dusting and upholstery! The "combination" tool is very handy. It has two ports, and two sides. One port/side is the dusting brush. The other port/side is the upholstery tool. No dealing with seperate tools. They are both on one convenient attatchment. There is also a crevice tool for those hard to get into places (like in between car seats). The cleaning hose is a bit long, but I would imagine most people would see that as a plus. And it's really not a problem if you place the vacuum far enough away when you are in a tight spot.
The bags are cheap and a snap to change. I really enjoy using this vacuum. The hose rotates on it's base so there are no tangles and the floor/carpet tool works great. There is also a "suction control" slip ring on the top wand to control the amount of suction. Although this vacuum does NOT have an electric carpet/floor attatchment the suction from the canister alone does a terrific job. And my carpet is somewhat plush. One other great feature is the "Automatic Motor Shutoff" which prevents the motor from overheating in case of a hose blockage.
In conclusion, I would recommend this vacuum to anyone needing a canister vacuum. Even if you already own an upright I would recommend this as a second vacuum because it is great for automobiles and all those hard to reach places in your home. It is powerful, easy to use and the tools are simple and conveniently placed!
UPDATE! 12/21/2004
I have had this vacuum for almost 2 years now and it still looks and performs like new!
