Author's Review

This collection of Shel Silverstein's poetry is an absolutely must read for children and adults alike. Pre-teens will appreciate the humor in Shel Silverstein's poetry such as Remote-a-Dad and Lyin' Larry (among my personal favorites). Adults as well will appreciate the fun to be had in these poems. Shel Silverstein is a creative, humorous writer you just have to fall in love with.

Some of his other poetry collections, A Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk ends are very similar and just as much fun to read. Both have collections similar to this one and if you do enjoy this, you'll enjoy the others as well. He has also written some short stories that are must reads such as The Giving Tree which is a poignant tale to read.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to laugh!
