Smart Cycle is Genius

The Fisher Price Smart Cycle Learning Game System is a great invention. The bicycle itself is sturdy, stable and easy to assemble. It's appealing to a child with bright green and purple accents. The cables are easy enough to hook up to the television set that my seven year old often gets the toy ready for my three year old. The controls for the games include a joystick and buttons on the handlebars. They are easy to use and my three year old picked up the basic idea while we tried the Smart Cycle out at a local toy store. Since bringing it home, I am amazed at the ease with which he has picked up navigating through the games. The bike itself has increased my son's ability to pedal a bike incredibly. It gives a child a great large motor activity while they are stuck inside during the winter. In order to navigate through the games, the child must pedal the bike as well as use the buttons on the handlebars to grab or locate items. This also assists with hand-eye coordination in kids. I am so impressed with this toy's ability to give my son the skills he is lacking. This is before we even consider the games! We currently own the Spongebob, Dora and Learning Adventure games. These are all fun for my son, however, our favorite is definitely Spongebob. These games encourage children to pedal the bike around a track and complete a number of activities in order to complete the race. These activities include number and alphabet recognition, counting, matching and more. They are solid learning opportunities and as an elementary school teacher, I find their content both applicable to the age level indicated and displayed in a way that is engaging to children. I would recommend this toy to anyone with a young child between three and six.
