Good truck for the money

The Bottom Line: The 4.0 v6 is a great engine. The ranger is built solid and will stand up to whatever you throw at it.

Run the other way

The Bottom Line: This is a defective product. If you find one very cheap, be sure and start looking for a spare transmission as soon as you buy the truck.
Review: My 1994 Ranger 4x2 had to have the front brakes replaced just after it was out of warranty and the transmission had to be replaced at 43,000 miles! I bought it new and carefully serviced it at the scheduled intervals.
