Update: 26,000 miles

So far this SUV has been a pure joy to own. There have been no maintenance issues. The engine upon breaking in around 12,000 miles is smooth and getting consistant 24-28 miles to the gallon. 2WD with 16" tires.

I have put this car through some grueling tests --1,000 miles with a 900 pound load of college furnishing. The car did not provide even a whimper. It purred along complete with roof rack, loaded to the gills.

Handling continues to be nimble and fun. It takes off with alittle more power than the 16" wheels can handle. I opted out of the 17" for better gas mileage so you do get spin on wet surfaces.

Original sound from the tight engine ceased to present a quiet smooth ride. (Note. It is still not a car ride but for an SUV on the highway its quite pleasant.)

For traction the factory equiped low end tires leave alot to be desired in snow and on mud. Looking forward to replacing them with some Michelins.
