Pros: sweet looking machine

Cons: needs coarser grinds, temperature instability, only good for two lattes at a time.

I bought an X1 from Williams-Sonoma. After 3 years of moderate use the unit is essentially now dead. A short circuit has developed in the heating coil and it looks like I'll have to replace the boiler to fix it. My dilemma is I've never been truly happy with the machine. It bogs down on finer espresso grinds since it has weak pressure. I've spent a lot of time trying to get the right grind and I finally bought a proper grinder last week only to have it start blowing fuses. The Francis Francis website is down and I can't find anyone to fix this machine. I'm worried repairs or a new boiler will cost half a much as a new, better machine.
