It's not practical to only use the 16MB XD-memory card that comes standard with most Fuji digital cameras. I use only the highest resolution so on 16MB you don't get many pictures, this means you have to either be really picky or transfer photos to your computer often. So, shortly after I purchased my first digital camera I bought the 256MB XD-memory card. I have since upgraded to this 512MB XD-memory card! So far, I have been very pleased with its performance and storage capacity.
The memory cards are easy to load. Just insert them the proper way, there's an arrow on the memory card to help you, and you're good to go. It can't get any easier. Just be sure to keep track of them if you take them out, they are very small and can be lost easily. In fact, I lost my 16MB card on a road trip to Seattle to see a Mariner's baseball game. So, now I have a handy carrying case for my camera, extra memory cards, and extra batteries. A good camera bag is a requirement for any photographer (amatuer or pro). The XD-memory cards offer fast read/write speeds, which allows
you the photographer to take and view pictures more quickly than with other memory cards. The cards also are designed to use less power than most memory cards, this is a great feature because if you're using the flash a lot you'll drain you batteries quickly so any savings is nice!
If you have an Olympus camera instead of a Fuji, that's ok because the XD-memory cards were designed for both companies. Though the Fuji brand XD-memory cards tend to be priced a bit lower than the ones under the Olympus brand. There's no difference in quality or performance.

Final Comments:
You and I both know that the picture you've been waiting for, Mt. St. Helens erupting, the game winning touchdown pass, your toddler doing something funny, always happens when you're near the end of your roll of film or max capacity of your memory card. The 512MB memory card gives you lots of room to capture those great moments without running out of space.
Trust me, it is worth the extra money to buy a higher capacity memory card! You get a ton more storage than the standard 16MB memory card that comes with most cameras. A high capacity memory card is a necessity, especially if you're traveling or have limited access to a computer.
What I dislike about this, and the other FujiFilm memory cards, is the minute size. While it makes toting them around very easy...it also makes losing them easy as well.
However, overall this is a great memory card and I recommend it to anyone with a FujiFilm or Olympus digital camera! Have fun!
