Defective Equipment with terrible service

Several day ago I purchased the product and found out the answering machine was defective. It wouldn't play but three words of the outgoing message and record only one word from the incoming message. When the machine would pick up the the incoming call, all handsets would no longer receive incoming sound, though it would ring. I had to reset the whole system just to get a dial tone again. When I found out about the problem I exchanged the purchase for a new one thinking the first was just defective. The second phone has the exact same problem.

I called customer service and they were absolutely no help at all. Their only answer to the problem is to pack up the phone and mail it to them under the warranty. So not only did I pay $150.00 for the phone and an additional $150.00 for 3 extra handsets, but I must pay to mail the product to them and go without a phone. With only a little "Sorry for the inconvenience." After reading the other reviews I recommend keeping the product on the store shelves until GE finally decides to recall the product. The concept is terrific, but the product is horrible.
