Poor Quality-Updated

Update: After 9 visits from Sears Extended warranty, they were unable to repair or replace the product with the extended warranty program. We contacted GE customer service and they sold us a new product at 50% off retail (so we had to pay another $1,000 on top of the $2,000 we already invested). The new product has worked well for a year, except the glass shelves are not attached to the frames and when you try to clean the shelves, the glass falls out into your hands. Very dangerous! We've given up our battle and now living with the unattached glass shelves. We bought GE because Consumer reports said it was the best- it is the worst.

We found out the motherboard went out, it had a huge burn mark on it and we could smell something burning days earlier. More research, we found out there is a massive GE recall of prior refrigerators for the same problems we are having. GE appears to be changing the model number and selling the same product that was in class action. Do not ever buy a GE from Sears- the customer service is awful.
