My husband and I own a co-op and part of the maintaince fees that we pay every month include the use of a washer/dryer combo. There are 72 units in all where we live and they are divided into anywhere from 2 to 3 or in my case 4 units in one building. Each unit in your specific building has the right to use the washing machine in that building.
The first time I saw this machine, I was not to thrilled. You can call these machines by several different. They are washer/dryer combos, stackables or simply spacemakers. Here in our so called laundry room, space is definately limited. I had never heard a good thing about these machines but at this point, this is all that was available to me.
I was very surprised, while taking up very little space, they definatley do the job of those big machines. We have a top loader and you just could not beleive how much it actually holds. There are 3 temperature settings, cold, warm and hot. There are 3 cycles you can also choose from, Regular, delicate or permanant press. Each cycles takes approximately 40 minutes.
The dryer works very well also. There are 3 setting on that too. Auto heat, which is medium heat, timed drying which is high heat and delicate which is low heat.
The only thing, and not that it is a bad thing, that I have found is that when using powered detergent instead of liquid, all the powder does not seem to totally dissolve...me, I am a liquid kind of girl anyway.
I have never had a problem personally and I must say with these stackables constantly being used, we have never had any problems as a whole. They really do work well and do a wonderful job. We are now looking to buy a home and I will definately buy one of these for my new home. If you are looking for a good washer/dryer combo price wise and space wise, this GE Spacesaver can't be beat.
