General Electric GSC3500N Built-in Dishwasher

There is good news and bad news about this dishwasher. First the good. This dishwasher is quiet. That is one of the best features about it. In addition, it has a large capacity so that I can wash my stock pots and large platters without a hassle.

The rack height is not adjustable. That is okay because there is a lot of space between the two racks. You can load a lot of dishes into this refrigerator and they still come clean.

Another feature that I liked was the food grinder. You did not have to rinse the dishes first. They came out clean the first time.

Now for the negatives. It is not durable. The installer bent the front panel on the install. So they had to replace the door panel, which seems rather flimsy to me. Then the control panel blew after only two years time. It is an expensive repair. I was having trouble with getting it to start a cycle. When I finally got it to work, it would stop and beep incessantly. The repair costs as much as a low end dishwasher. I would have expected a GE appliance to last longer than that. They only offer a 1 year warranty. This was a huge disappointment to me. I would have expected the electronics on this unit to be more durable.

Overall, I would not recommend this dishwasher even though it has great features. The lack of durability was a real disappointment. I cannot understand why they electronics did not last longer, but this seems to be a common issue with GE dishwashers. Next time, I will go with another brand.
