Gilmore Girls Goes out Strong

by   jmakingmoney ,   Jan 9, 2008

Pros:  Witty, Funny, Charming, Fun to Watch, Entertaining, Good Ending

Cons:  Last Season Ever

The Bottom Line:  I would highly recommend Season 7 of the Gilmore Girls. It's the last season ever but it wraps everything up nicely.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

**Warning** This review reveals several spoilers!!!

The 7th season of Gilmore Girls does not disappoint. However, I don't think it stands up the the previous 6 seasons. I feel like the dialogue is missing what made the other seasons so great. Things seem a little slower, less witty than before. However, season 7 is still an excellent thing to pop in the DVD player.

Season 7 starts off with the aftermath of the Luke and Lorelai breakup. As a fan of Luke and Lorelai as a couple, this episode was a little sad. It does feel real though. All the awkwardness, hurt and confusion that results from a breakup was felt by both Luke and Lorelai.

When Lane and Zack return from their honeymoon, Lane finds out she's pregnant. With twins. Yikes!

Lorelai and Christopher also start dating. I feel like they only started dating so the writers could close a part of the story line. It's like they've always had something but never really explored it. When they elope in Paris it wasn't the happy occasion that a marriage should be.

Luke decides he wants partial custody of his daughter, April. He has to fight for it though, because Anna doesn't think he deserves it.

Lorelai and Christopher's marriage begins to dissolve when it becomes obvious that she still has feelings for Luke.

Rory and Logan are still together and doing alright until a business venture falls apart. He then resorts to his old ways and goes off gallivanting in Vegas with his buddies. Right before graduation Logan asks Rory to marry him. She doesn't give him an answer until graduation day. It's a no go. I feel like they should have stayed together. Maybe not an engagement but they felt right.

By the end of the season it's assumed that Luke and Lorelai will be together. But I would've liked to actually see them get back together and start a life as a couple.

Overall
I'm a huge Gilmore Girls fan so I thought season 7 was good. I own all 7 seasons and have seen all the episodes several times. I think additional extras would've been a nice feature but the extras they do include on the DVD are good. I would recommend watching season 7 if you at all enjoy the Gilmore Girls.
