Close Second to Silence of the Lambs

I had much awaited the opening weekend of this movie. One mistake I made was reading the book before seeing the movie. I really enjoyed the movie, but it did leave out many parts of the book. We once again join Clarice to hunt down Dr. Lecter and he once again manages to evade capture.
I think it had as much suspense as Silence of the Lambs and it definitely was more graphic. In most movies when someone is getting killed, the producers leave out the actual killing, not in Hannibal. This is definitely not a movie for children or the weak of stomach. It shows EVERYTHING!!!
We went on the Saturday night of opening weekend. The movie was sold out as was the next showtime. I heard a few people saying they did not like it as well as Silence, but hey, it's a sequel, they're never as "good" as the first.
I would definitely recommend seeing this movie on the big screen. It was worth paying full price if you really like horror movies. Compared to another horror movie out now, Valentine, it was 5 times better!! My only regret was that Jodie Foster did not return to play Clarice.
