The Bottom Line: Quality carrier at an affordable price. Very secure for baby.
I purchased this carrier after trying out one of those all fabric baby wraps. I needed something more structured that didn't leave me feeling like I was swaddled in 10 yards of cloth and something that was straight forward to put on- not requiring me to watch a DVD full of instructions before I could use it!
Once you get the hang of this carrier it works great. It just takes a little bit of practice getting the baby in and out of it by yourself. After using it 2-3 times I had no problem reaching and negotiating all the clasps and buckles by myself, although it is always nice to have a second set of hands to assist you in supporting the baby while you get it all together and secured.
My daughter is now 2 months old and seems hate her car seat. It makes trips out very challenging unless she is asleep. We no longer have the luxury of propping her seat up in a shopping cart or attaching it to the stroller frame if she is awake or else she will cry at the top of her lungs! This carrier has been a life saver. She seems to be happy in it. She doesn't cry in it and if she does start to fuss a little bit of bouncing will calm her right down. We also live very close to a major theme park attraction and it is so convenient to just pop her in the carrier and not have to worry about a stroller in the crowds.
I seem to be pretty comfortable wearing the carrier. I think that it can get a little warm, but not too bad. My daughter is still too young to face forward, so I do have to deal with her eating my shirt while she is riding though. The straps are nicely padded and very supportive. I feel like she is very secure in this carrier.
My only complaint about this carrier is that it is a chore to adjust the straps. They don't slide in the buckles very easily which is a good thing for keeping her secure in the carrier, but a pain if someone else needs or wants to wear the carrier. There are times when I would prefer that my husband carry her, but find that it isn't worth the trouble to make all the adjustments.
I would certainly purchase this item again though. It does the job for less than half the price of the more expensive carriers!
