Product Review

A must-have for those who have a toddler and a newborn...

by   mainemomof2 ,   Jan 11, 2008

Pros:  Ease of use, can use this stroller for a longer period of time

Cons:  Baby riding in the back may not be able to sit straight up

The Bottom Line:  Great stroller for those who have older toddlers and a newborn

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I researched this stroller before I bought it and I almost did not buy it because of all the bad reviews that the stroller got.

I initially wanted to buy this stroller because I knew my toddler (who is two years old) wouldn't want to ride in the stroller forever. I thought it was a great concept that when my toddler got tired, she could either sit on the bench seat in the back or stand up while I pushed around my infant. I also thought that I would end up using it a lot longer since it would be more likely that my toddler would use it until she was three or four (standing) than your average side-by-side stroller or back-and-front stroller because she would be, of course, be too big.

My main concern while reading the reviews was the fact that the child could not ride on the back sitting if the child seat was positioned in the front. I wanted to buy this, of course, for the fact that my toddler could ride in the back.

I ended up getting the stroller anyway and the reviews have been right. My toddler is unable to sit straight up while the child seat is in the front and that seat is reclined; however, my toddler is still able to sit in the seat and she doesn't seem to mind the fact that she can't sit up straight. Most of the time, she doesn't even sit. She likes the idea that she can stand and hold on to the bars (another feature of the stroller), and seems to be more comfortable doing that. In a few months, I won't have the child carrier in the front and both children will be able to sit comfortably.

I think that the thing I liked most about this stroller was how easy it handled. Most double strollers are so hard to control and FORGET about taking them through small mall stores - the Joovy stroller was so incredible to handle, you sometimes forget you are using a double stroller!

One more pro to this stroller is that it has an attachment that attaches to the front of the stroller that makes it universal for any baby carrier. How great is that?
