THE INCREDIBLE KNA-G510 GPS RECEIVER

One of the most incredible and easiest navigation systems that I have encountered.
Installed as a complement to a totally integrated in-dash system (Kenwood KVT-717DVD) i.e. DVD, TV, Weather-Band-Radio & HD Radio.
This unit was designed with coordinated engineering with GARMIN.
As soon as you turn the key, the unit is online whether or not "The In-Dash System" is on, as it is always running in the background locked in on satellite GPS & WAAS signals.

With selectable voice prompts in a woman's voice(voice program Jill), assistance commands come from the front-left speaker(closest to the driver) which automatically toggles between current program content(TV, Radio, etc.). Now that's using your heads Kenwood.

I was easily able to understand all functions, WITHOUT the manual within 15 minutes.

It comes fully loaded with the ability to designate a specific go-to address or categorized Points-Of-Interest which is quite extensive. I had it look for Shopping Malls, Grocery Stores, Eateries and even had it find me a Dairy Queen and a Panera Bread location without a hitch!
I can go on and on as it has an extensive customizable user-friendly interface.

Kenwood has the Instruction Manual online that explains all it's functions and GARMIN is constantly updating the firmware with enhancements FROM GARMIN's WEBSITE that can be downloaded to any SD card and then inserted into the KNA-G510 thus making it a viable solution into the future.

Personalization was definitely a driving force in the design of this unit along with an incredibly sensitive front-end receiver.

Several users have complained about an inadequate voice-prompt volume level.
I found 2 level settings, that between the two of them, can make prompts as soft as a whisper, to being so loud you want to get out of the car.
1 setting, which most only find, is the actual programmable adjustable OUTPUT "FROM" from the KNA-G510.
The OTHER adjustable level, is INPUT level of the particular port of your In-Dash unit that the KNA-G510 is conversing with.
(The aforementioned navigation voice-prompts that come from the left-front speaker by driver, I have found, is customizable to come out any or all speakers, which I beleive may be an enhancement provided by Kenwood).

In regards to convenience......
When you program a destination i.e. plan-a-trip, the display will provide you with a realtime-of-arrival of your destination, even if you happen to deviate from the provided route and have to detour, it re-calculates immediately.

Not documented in our manual......
I have found, while the navigation screen is active with a map on-screen, if you tap the right-side of the screen, the display changes to show you additional information such as Current Trip Stats: Distance Traveled, Moving Time, Stopped Time, Average Speed, & Max. Speed, which are all resettable.

Discovery in use...
With WAAS turned On, which is a free service that is not yet available in all areas, has enhanced GPS accuracy to a given location from within 300 feet to an astonshing 30 feet in the areas I have been in.
