When I bought my 1987 Porsche 911 cabriolet it was a dream come true. When I turned on the stereo in it, it was a nightmare. Despite having a quality aftermarket component speaker system the sound had crystal clear highs and mids, but NO bass whatsoever.
Being extremely limited in storage space and not wishing to give any up, there were very few options available. For powered subs there are basically two that are out there that amount to anything, the Infinity Basslink and the Kenwood that I settled on. After viewing the Basslink at a Circuit City store I found it to be way too big for my car. I gambled on the Kenwood and ordered it online for a very reasonable price. I had hopes of it fitting underneath the passenger seat and even with the electric seat motor that I have the Kenwood did fit well.
How does it sound? Well, it added the missing component to my car's sound and now I have a very well-rounded balanced stereo sound. No, it will not rattle the interior, but I wouldn't want that anyhow.
I love the small size, the big sound, and the adjustable remote that allows me to tailor the setting using two knobs based upon the particular song. Most of the time I never have to touch it, but if I have 80's music going I need to turn up the bass and sometimes with electronica I need to tone it down.
If you have a small area that you need a clean sounding, solid bass response you can't go wrong.
