When we purchased new appliances: range, fridge, Washer/Dryer (all LG) there was a coupon for $400 off if we bought the dishwasher. epinions frankly had me very concerned about the dishwasher.. so with extended warranty credit card in hand.. we nervously made the purchase.
So far so good....
Installation.... this is a big dishwasher inside.. so every dimension outside has been maxed out.. it "just" fits. The insulation and materials all look top shelf.... The one exception being the drain hose... Having had a plastic flex hose fail in our last house.. I wish they would ship with rubber sturdier hose.... When I read reviews about the crappy rinsing/draining./.. I wonder if the size of the machine and the cheap hose.. cause blockages... (I have no proof of that, as ours works fine)
The directions are very good.. and since I encountered no problems with my replacement install... I can't relate to the service dept... or how to solve issues... I was VERY lucky.. and everything lined up perfect.
The unit looks beautiful. The LED light inside is very useful. The stainless doesn't seem prone to finger prints or other maladies we hear about stainless (all out other appliances are white for that reason.) The only nit to pick outside is how low the unit door is... Again to maximize efficiency the door almost touches the floor. If left open.. it is way outside your field of vision.. We haven't tripped yet.. but there have been close calls.
We've had the odd dish come back with grey matter (old food) firmly welded to it. Our old Maytag used to do that too... but it occurs with the LG is a bit more frequently.
The cycles are VERY long... if you're planning on clean dishes for supper best run your load at noon... It is quiet.. but takes well over 2 hours to run.
It actually is VERY quiet... I can't think of an adjective that properly describes the sound... Our fish tank is louder.
Having had no service problems of any kind with the dishwasher.. I can't comment on LG service.. A small problem on our range was dealt with immediately ... but albeit by our dealer.
Our dealer has been wonderful.. he is an independent.. and very accommodating.
We have no complaints about the racks.. or stowing various dishes.. we do not however put pots & pans in the dishwasher... so that may be why.
So it has been 14 months.. so far so good. I'll keep you posted
