Author's Review
I bought this LG air conditioner after a long search and extensive comparison shopping. I had returned an unsatisfactory 10,000 BTU unit from another brand and was careful not to make another mistake.
I have never bought an LG product before, so I was a little apprehensive, but I am so happy with my purchase.
The unit is sturdy and strong, runs quietly, cools the area quickly and comfortably, and was easy to install. Plus, it has electronic controls and a good remote control.
If I were to complain about anything, it would be the manual. It could be clearer (for example, this is a slide out chassis unit, and you have to screw the top guard on from the INSIDE of the casing, but the manual does not specify that. It simply says "attach the upper guide onto the top of the cabinet with 3 Type A screws". The diagram DOES show the proper way, but every screw used during installation is illustrated in the same small single diagram, making it very difficult to match the written directions with the diagram.)
In addition, the air conditioner has other features such as ENERGY SAVER, DRY MODE, and so on, but the manual explains nothing about how these are different from the regular mode. The manual simply says "Select dry mode for dry operation" and the purpose of the dry mode is never explained.
Even so, I this was a great purchase and I am now very comfortable in my apartment this summer.
