Author's Review
If I had to pick only one jewelry arts magazine, I would pick Lapidary Journal. I love making jewelry (beaded, strung glass, wire), and I have an extensive collection of books and magazines about jewelry-making. I am a bead addict and compulsive literature collector. Of all of the publications about jewelry and jewelry-making, this one stands out due to the breadth of its coverage.
If you are only interested in one area of jewelry-making, then this magazine will seem "slim" to you. However, if you enjoy seeing all of the trends in the jewelry arts, as well as learning or reading about techniques, this one is the best.
Additionally, the advertising is varied to encompass the spectrum of arts covered in the publication. I have found several great sources. Also, they publish a listing of web sites every month, which is very nice. I also recommend their web site. It has a lot of information for artisans of all skill levels.
