Very Good Value!

Here is my review of the Lasko 2155a Window Mount Fan:


I live in a single story 1400 sq ft home. I was looking for something that could actually move air through the house. I have central heat and air during cool mornings and warm afternoons I feel guilty running the air knowing its going to be in the 40's tonight. I want to let some fresh air in from outside or exaust stale air out quickly.

After reading reviews on other sites I decided this was exactly what I needed for the size of my home. I'm not sure of the durablilty but will update my review upon anything going wrong. Hopefully that won't happen.

Price: I paid 57.99 for this fan through a website. Do a search for the best price. Not sure which if any stores carry this particular product.

Dimentions: 26.5" W x 8.25" D x 22" H and will fit windows 26.5" to 34.5" wide and 22" high.

Installation: This installed in less that 20 minutes with the four 3/4 inch screws and is very simple. The side panels adjust to fit your window.

Color: Off white.

Operation: Three speeds for fresh air intake and three speeds for exaust. This fan is relatively quiet on high speed. The control dial is located in the center of the fan beside the control dial.

Likes: I turned the fan on exaust high speed, opened the window in a room across the house and it drew in a nice breeze. This is really perfect for cooking odors or removing stale air in general. That's my favorite part of this fan. The kitchen got a little smokey from cooking and within five minutes the house was clear. It sort of reminds me of the attic fan we had in our home growing up but on a smaller scale. I love the "storm guard" feature which allows you to completely close and lock the window behind the fan without having to remove the fan. It only uses 100 watts on high speed.

Dislikes: The side panels are made of hard plastic. When installed the seal is not completely tight but close. This fan is not waterproof.

Cleaning: This unit looks like it will be relatively easy to clean by unscrewing the four screws in the fan paddle housing and wipe with damp cloth. Unplug the unit first.

Warranty: 1 year manufacturer limited warranty.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and will update if need be.
