Product Review

SPORTcross is right

by   compcond ,   Nov 29, 2003

Pros:  Does everything well and is trouble free.

Cons:  Gas mileage. Just doesn't quite handle like an Audi.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I traded in a 1998 Audi A4 after 49,000 miles and more repairs than anyone would believe in a modern vehicle.

The Lexus does everything right... the Audi did everything more right... when it worked... which was rare.

After a year of ownership absolutely nothing has gone wrong with the Lexus. It handles great (but the Bridgestone tires 'gotta go), has plenty of power, and is very comfortable on long rides. You can toss it around and, unless you look back, you'll never realize you're in a wagon (strongly suggest you don't toss the car around with a 21" computer monitor in the back... but it's nice to know you could).

I still miss the Audi but I've learned to accept that a weekly trip to the dealer comes as part of the package. After a year of ownership I am convinced I made the right choice. Never liked kraut anyway.
