Linksys makes it go!

Date of Review:  Dec 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: For those who don't like to deal with too much installation settings, this unit is for you! Great for a secure 54MBPS connection.
Review: Having just moved here to Maine, I needed Internet access so that I could continue my business operations as well as get to my most important email. At first, I got connected to Cingular using the Blackjack. Finally, we got broadband set up just...

It just works!

Date of Review:  Jun 5, 2005
Review: Along with a profession that works with networks all day, I support my home with a family that doesn't care which name is on the router. When the Netgear quit (WGR614 V1), and tech support was nowhere to be see, I had to put something in that would...

Great Home Office Router

Date of Review:  Sep 9, 2003
Review: The Linksys WRT54G was a replacement/upgrade to my Linksys BEFSR41. Setup of the WRT54G is simple. The latest firmware of the product has fixed many of the initial problems the router had. The router currently servers 3 wired clients and 2 wireless...

Cheap and easy

Date of Review:  Sep 9, 2003
The Bottom Line: If you're currently naked to the net, you need to get a firewall of some kind in place. This device does the trick, and provides wireless convenience to boot.
Review: This is a fine wireless SOHO solution.

I'm using it between my DSL four port router and my internal NYC apartment network. For a cable modem, you'd do just what I did--connect the router to your cable modem using standard netwok cable...

A good basic 802.11g wireless SOHO router / AP.

Date of Review:  May 15, 2004
The Bottom Line: For most families &SOHO's buying this router should be easy. It's got a long lineage, Linksys is part of Cisco now, Cisco at low cost! It doesn't get better!
Review: Linksys has a history of offering great value in small home and home office networking devices. The WRT54G continues and in many ways improves upon this legacy. This is even more noteworthy as Linksys was purchased by Cisco as this product was...

Excellent Value - Delightful Freedom

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2004
The Bottom Line: Highly recommend this product for anyone who wants the portability or convenience that wireless provides. Not having to snake wires or crawl under desks... think of it! Enjoy!!
Review: Received this router as a Father's day gift last week.
Took about 5 minutes to set up and run tests to be sure I could get the distance I needed with "wireless".

I was concerned that there might be interference with my cordless phone...

Linksys Keeps Doing a Great Job

Date of Review:  Jul 18, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you want a wireless router OR access point, get the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router.
Review: This review concerns the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (WRT54G). I wrote a review a few years ago on the Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router (BEFW11S4), which you can read here.

All comments in this old review apply to the WRT54G...

Date of Review:  Oct 7, 2005
The Bottom Line: Spend more money and get something that will last.
Review: I bought this router because the name is associated with Cisco and they are the authority on routing. Too bad the parent company didnt pass that idea on to Linksys. The product looks nice in it blue and black plastic case. About 6 weeks after using...

WRT54G Rev2 - Decent but Setup is not intuitive.

Date of Review:  Nov 6, 2004
The Bottom Line: Thumbs up; based on ease of use for the average consumer. Weight this opinion based on the fact that I am a network savvy IT professional.
Review: The WRT54G is my second WiFi router. My previous Dlink DI-614+ worked well enough but had occasional glitches that required the unit be reset.

The purchase of a Dell laptop (non Centrino) with Dell's internal 802.11g WiFi, and the Dlink...

Excellent Performance

Date of Review:  Jun 27, 2006
