Starts Out Great... Ends Up Not So Great

As soon as I saw the likeness to a Playstation 2 controller, and the friendly $20 price tag.. I knew I had to get this product.


The Basics

The controller is almost an exact replica of a Playstation 2 controller. It feels great, button locations are wonderful, and you have 2 analog sticks for 360 control which also act as buttons, as well as a directional pad for older games.

Very little user intervention is necessary. You just plug the gamepad in a USB port and you are ready to go. A Logitech profiler is built into the drivers where you can manually configure the controls to work with older games, or ones who do not naturally support gamepads/joysticks.


One Problem

After an hour or so of continuous use, the left analog stick does not register when it is pressed past 60% right or so. This can be very annoying in games such as NBA Live 2004, where movement is hindered by this problem. Logitech is aware of this, however they do not offer any solutions for it.

This problem can be defeated by disabling and re-enabling the USB port it is connected to in Display Manager. But that is annoying.


Final Word

With the exception of the left analog stick problem, this controller is perfect. Its your decision whether to put up with that serious flaw or not. As I have said, it can be battled, and games that do not require the use of analog sticks are not affected. The choice is yours.
