Good but could be better
Pros:
Moves, sceneries.
Cons:
Confusing points, soundtrack.
The Bottom Line:
Nice BMX moves and characters, but a head-breaking and sometimes unfair game.

Author's Review
I saw this game as a demo version in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 CD. I thought it was quite good and since I had liked so much TH I thought it would be just as good. About a week after finishing TH I bought this CD.
My first impression was regarding the soundtrack: it didn't match the game at all. While some of the moves where exciting and/or complicated, the background music made it boring, as it didn't have a good speed for what you were doing. Seemed as if the sound had stopped while you were playing. Different from TH, since the soundtrack on that game were very exciting and all - I mean all - matched perfectly each track.
The career mode was similar to TH: you had to complete different tasks for each level. The bad thing is that instead of you earning money to give more points to your character, all you could do was open a new level or a new bike - your character would never change. Plus, you couldn't fill all of the bike's features, you would open the last bike and it would have some points missing. Ok, it adds some difficulty for the game, but there are times when you just want to enter a track and finish it fast and easily.
The moves were good, quite real and nicely presented. There is quite a good amount of moves that you can do with each character, although some of them sometimes seem impossible to do.
Competitions were rather confusing: in TH your moves would be worth the same amount of points each time you performed, but in MH the moves would be worth each time less, so you would need to do lots and lots of different moves to get good points from the judges. It also doesn't matter how many game points you can make in each run, what really matters is how you were able to perform the moves, how many different ones you could make and how many times you would repeat them.
I was never able to win a competition, even though I did some complex moves, but never enough to the judges :-/
Maybe if I didn't compare this game so much with TH it would have been better. But after playing TH I expected that the other games would follow it's methods and honestly I think they are better. Unless you are in the mood for a complicated or cheating game, you should go after TH. By cheating I mean that sometimes it wouldn't give all the points that you would normally receive for the same move or that the judges would never let you win the game - I really think that I'm a good player - plus real cheats don't work often, so you'll have to keep breaking your head until you finish the game.
