Author's Review
My wife about divorced me when I purchased this washer & dryer set because they are expensive but we live in the country with a well pump and saving water is saving money, the other thing I like is that it spins up over 1000 rpm and clothes come out less damp than regular washers so dryer time is also reduced, these appliances save us about $10.00 per month off our electric bill and as it turns out they are also extremely reliable, I have never laid a wrench on them in 5 years with family of 4, the washer has multiple settings for handling all clothes and soils it allows you to wash and soak, delay up to 8 hours, large things we used to have to take out can now be washed at home such as quilts & sleeping bags. the soap dispenser is handy on the top, we just dump the detergent container in upside down and let it drip dry so theres no mess also the bleach and softener containers actually dispense at the correct time so they're more effective.
with well water and a regular washer all our whites turned yellow but the Maytag Neptune made a noticeable difference getting them white. it makes a weird noise like a jet plane but it's not loud or banging rhythmically like regular washers it's basically silent except for the spin cycle at the end which is a smooth whirring jet engine noise but no louder than any normal washer, lasts for about 3 minutes, I really like these appliances and would buy again in a heartbeat if needed.
