Great little mouse, very compact & portable.

I had a Targus wireless optical notebook mouse that met an untimely demise after its reciever was crushed (my own fault). I immediately wanted another one since the trackpad on my notebook makes me crazy after anything more than a few minutes. I picked up this one by Microsoft as a replacement since I had one of their desktop optical models that I was very impressed with. The MS model was much more attractive, its contours make it more comfortable, it has a scroll wheel, and I love how the receiver tucks underneath the mouse body for travel, shutting it down to preserve battery power. My old Targus had itty-bitty little switches underneath and on the receiver that weren't too easy to get to, and very easy to forget when packing up for travel. The MS one is a little more dummy-proof since you want a nice place to stick the receiver when you take it out anyway. Although it includes a "synch" function for when it's powered on after being shut down, I haven't needed used yet - truly plug and play. And, after a month and a half of use I'm still on the original AAA battery.
