Author's Review

this is the most confusing piece of electronic equipment i have ever played with. the instructions come on a cd-rom, i printed them and ended up with over 200 pages! i am the one in the family that is called on to set up electronics or troubleshoot devices. i have come to the conclusion that i am either losing my touch or this mio has the worst user interface i have ever encountered. i thought the new plasma tv was tricky but the navigation menus are confusing, the direction it gives are not always the direct route, it wants me to go out of my way leaving home to get the main road and somehow i have a chevron and mc donalds near my home. i live in the forest. i wonder if it is defective? probably not though. when you get stuck or confused and need to find that spot on the manual you have to choose between two seperate stacks of paper that have to be at least an inch thick. so if you dont memorize the instructions and have to tote them along, bring a briefcase. i have nothing to say about this thing that is good except my wife wanted it and she got it.
