Navman s300 GPS. Great for skating AND running!
Date of Review: Apr 10, 2006
I was a bit weary about buying the s300(made primarily for skating) instead of the r300 (for running) because I run more than I skate. The s300 was cheaper (about $60), and seemed to have all the functions I needed and more. I'm very pleased with it's performance so far, and I'm glad I got it. You can track your distance in MPH or KPH; track your current, average, and maximum speed; set a target speed; time yourself; and watch the odometer for total distance, until you reset. Also has a clock, and date (mm/yy). It's comfortable to wear, and very easy to use (only has 2 buttons).
One major fault I have found with the Navman s300 is the lock for the battery compartment. It is literally a screw that is difficult to get to. The hole for the screw got stripped after the first attempt to change the battery. Now it's stuck, and I fear that the only way to change the battery is to break the door on the battery compartment! What a shame - this item is great until you try and switch the battery (would have been 5 stars otherwise!)
