Author's Review
I had been lusting over the Nokia 770 for a good while but could not bring myself to buy one because of all of the reports I heard of instability, slowness, and general quirkiness. As soon as the N800 came out, however, I pounced on it, too excited about the new, exciting toy to wait around for reviews. I was elated for about my first week with it. Sure, it the browser would crash sometimes, and sure it wasn't all that much faster than the 770 I'd played with, but it was DAMN COOL! As time has gone on though, it's gone from damn cool to damn annoying. The browser crashes on me an estimate of one in five times that I use it, and it's just too slow to use for some of the cooler stuff you should be able to do with it, like watching YouTube videos. It randomly reboots itself, or the browser crashes, or something frustrating happens like the whole system running slow as molasses what feels like every other time I use it. N800, I had high hopes for you, but you're well on your way to ebay.
