I switched to the 6610 after I had a horrible experience with my previous phone, the Motorola C332. If I had to rank my experiences with both phones, i would give the Motorola a "1" and the Nokia a "9".
The 6610 is an excellent phone overall. The phone is compact and light, but also long enough so one feels as if he or she is talking into it.
The screen is not as large as some of its competitors, but it is clear and easily visible in all lighting conditions.
I only have to charge my phone every other day and I am typically on the phone for 30-45 minutes per day. The 6610 charges from zero to full charge in less than 2 hours as well.
Ring and talk volume is ample. Speakerphone is a neat feature, as well as a stopwatch and unit converter.
The buttons, especially the call and send buttons, could have been designed to be easier to press. Trying to insert the headphones into the slot on the phone is also too difficult.
Overall, the Nokia 6610 is an excellent phone from a company known for manufacturing first-rate mobile phones. You cannot go wrong by purchasing this one.
