Pros:
Easy copy from VHS to DVD. Easy timer set-up. Quiet
Cons:
Problems viewing DVD's recorded on another DVD recorder. D tray is "touchy".
The Bottom Line:
We are really happy with this unit. If this unit is an indication on any newer units, I would buy Panasonic again.

I bought this unit at a discount on E-bay since I already had another unit but wanted two. I needed to "time-shift" TV shows and transfer old VHS home movies to DVD.
It works very well for these purposes and in fact I like it better than the Samsung I paid full price for.
I had to call Panasonic at first because my remote did not communicate with the unit. That was easily handled. Panasonic was great to deal with.
The DVD copy from VHS is not great, but then neither is the VHS. I do get better results using my computer and software but for a quick complete copy, this suits the purpose.
This Panasonic unit is very quiet. My Samsung unit is much noisier, to the point where it can distract.
One big con is that I cannot always see discs recorded on other units. This unit allows for an extra step that makes its DVD's easily viewed on other DVD players/recorders.
I am still working on the intricacy's but was able to do all the basics right out of the box.
I have and would recommend this unit to a friend, even one who is "technology challenged".
I now wish I had purchased Panasonic in the first place and had two of them, rather than the other unit I bought first.
