Cons:
Lack of digital input makes this one not to recommend. Wish I hadn't bought it.

Very solid good sounding HTIB. Big flaw that I didn't think about at the time was the lack of digital audio inputs. I have an HD Plasma and some HD channels broadcast in 5.1 sound, but because the HT940 only has analog L/R inputs I can't use the system to get the 5.1 surround sound.
I lived with no 5.1 for TV, then I got an HD DVD player and am not happy that I can't play these in 5.1 with the HT940. If you want to add a Bluray in the future as the price of the players come down, you are going to have the same problem.
You also can't just swap out the DVD player for a new receiver as the subwoofer in passive and standalone receivers need a powered sub.
If you are only going to use this system for playing DVDs, and won't possible have any other source for 5.1 surround sound, this system is fine. Otherwise, look for one with at least 1 digital (toslink) input.
