Help Me I'm Falling in Love!

Date of Review:  Nov 7, 2002
The Bottom Line: A stunning debut, 8 out of 10 great songs of saddness and bliss. A must for long rides in the afternoon. Keep it like a secret.
Review: Ah Coldplay, one of the few bands I respect nowadays( that being Radiohead is Recording an album and whatnot). I Remember when i first fell in love with these four English lads(or at least thier music), i was watching a program on HBO called...

Parachutes- "Impossible Not to Like"

Date of Review:  Dec 28, 2002
The Bottom Line: Good for anyone who can stand a lack of variety.
Review: Lately, I've been looking up MattA75's reviews, and I've found myself agreeing with him quite a bit. Then I came across his review for Coldplay's most recent release, "A Rush of Blood to the Head." He said that not only did Coldplay's debut,...

'Parachutes' by Coldplay is Mega!

Date of Review:  Oct 24, 2000
Review: The debut album from this London quartet and it is a grand one at that! After releasing two singles independently, they were signed to Parlophone records. If any of you know the history of Parlophone, then you are familiar with the quality they are...

They Call it Mellow Yellow

Date of Review:  Jul 9, 2001
The Bottom Line: Stands out from all the "sound alike" stuff out there
Review: Like everybody else who bought this CD, I bought it based on "Yellow," a popular song cruising the airwaves these days. I hesitated though because I had read some reviews that said the rest of the tunes on the CD were boring and "uninspired." I...

Falling without a parachute

Date of Review:  Jul 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: It's a very atmospheric CD and will most likely be a great inspiration for aspiring young songwriters.
Review: One would think an alternative band hailing from any part of the British Isles these days is just another product of post-OK Computer Radiohead-ism. And in some ways, most are. But we on the Western side of the pond like to make that comparison too...

Coldplay Parachutes Into My Favorites

Date of Review:  Jul 30, 2001
The Bottom Line: In my humble epinion, this CD is worth the consideration of all music fans. Myself, I love it.
Review: I was inspired to buy this CD because of the song "Yellow". This song has become my song to my daughter Janie, who some of you may have read about. Anyway, I have since listened to this entire CD countless times and I find it quickly rising to the...

Almost like flying

Date of Review:  Sep 10, 2001
The Bottom Line: Coldplay defined itself as one of the best new bands with Parachutes, if they work at it in a different way they'd the best. Let's hope for a great second.
Review: The most astounding about the new UK group Coldplay is that they lost to Alicia Keys at this year's MTV VMA's. The rock group is most known for last winter's single Yellow. Much like Yellow, Coldplay's Parachutes is full of simple mellow tracks that...

Hit the Ejector Button

Date of Review:  Dec 13, 2001
The Bottom Line: If you like indy or britpop, i highly recommend this album, just expect more Eric Clapton than Stereophonics.
Review: This album is dour, sometimes boring and the songs have a habit of sending you to sleep.....only to be woken up by the amazingly different singles. Meaningful, superb lyrics and guitar, Yellow,Trouble and Shiver stand out from this rest of the...

And It Was All Mellow

Date of Review:  Mar 19, 2002
The Bottom Line: Dreamy, hypnotic, and melancholy. Radiohead on Prozac and sleeping pills?
Review: The mood of Coldplay's album is similar to Radiohead's quieter moments and even "Dark Side" era Pink Floyd. It's moody and sleepy, with a couple of songs as exceptions ("Shiver" and "Yellow"). Above all, there is something undeniably British about...

What's The Matter Boy, You Yellow?

Date of Review:  Nov 13, 2000
Review: Last year, the British rock-sensation Travis took the isles by storm and pulled off a critical coup with their second LP, The Man Who. This year, a band called Coldplay is carrying the torch of afflicted, dour British men everywhere. At first...
