Product Review

Great Stroller

by   gayatrifl ,   Jul 4, 2008

Pros:  Light, ease of folding, stands up, looks good

Cons:  Access to basket, lack of holders for parent items

The Bottom Line:  Due to ease of folding, lightweight, and durability, it is an excellent high use stroller especially for traveling.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I spent a long time reviewing strollers online and in stores when I was pregnant with my first child. I wanted the "best" that I could afford. I could not comprehend owning more than one stroller (now that I have two boys, I understand, but that is another story).

My favorite feature is that it truly is a one hand folding stroller and then stands upright. I always get comments at the airport when I have take the baby out of it, put him on my hip, and proceed to fold the stroller and stand it up with ease all one handed without missing a beat. With a bit of finesse, I can even open it one handed, but that is not as easy.

It is easy to steer and can be done one handed even though it is an umbrella design. Again some finesse is required. It would be nice if it were easier to steer one handed, but it is a downside I am willing to accept for the other positives.

It is light enough that it was never a problem to take in and out of the car trunk, fold up and sent through the xray machine at airport security, or just carry along with me rather than pushing it.

I really like that the coordinating infant seat actually snaps into place rather than just sits inside.

It does not truly recline to flat, but the back does go low enough for a newborn. My newborns always ended up in the infant carrier anyway if they were in the stroller. If you take off the front tray, it is flat enough to use as a changing table. I do that often with both the baby and the toddler.

My toddler likes to use the cup holder on the tray for snacks. None of his sippy cups really fit there well. That is more due to the ones we chose to buy. There are ones that fit fine.

The basket underneath is a bit of a pain to get to. You can only access it from the side. I put things in there that I don't need to access easily. The positive spin there is that it also makes it harder to steal from. I put the diaper bag over the handles for easy access. I also toss things into the canopy when not in use. I haven't lost anything yet doing it that way.

As for durability, I have been very hard on it. Or rather the baggage handlers have when we gate checked it. Almost all of the damage occurred that way. The adult cup holder was the exception. Despite it being the most difficult part of the assembly (which was easy enough for me when I was 7 months pregnant), it went missing one day at the park. The height adjustment tabs broke off during our travels. It has also been scuffed quite a bit. Despite its slightly haggard appearance after two and half years of near daily use, it still is completely functional (except for the height adjustment on the handles).

I would highly recommend it. An easy way to save money is to search for previous year models as they are updated each year just like cars.
