Presto 05442 Disappointment

This is my second CoolDaddy deep fryer and I dislike it more than the first one. The first one heated up fine, but only lasted about 8 months. The 05442 model is only good if you are cooking for one person. If you put too much food in the basket the fryer will never heat up enough to cook the food.

I like the cool touch fryer because the pot is removable, the lid pops off and you can pretty much throw them in the sink and wash them making cleanup a breeze, however their is a little gap in front and if you let food fall in it you will need to use a toothpick to get it out.

Food does seem to stick to the basket more than it should, however I think that is because the fryer does not heat up enough.

I ended up giving the fryer to my son because it does fine with small amounts of food. Does not do a good job if you are cooking for two people. One chicken patty at a time or the food is grease soaked and nasty.

Also, the filter does not do a good job with odors. When using the fryer it makes the whole house smell like whatever you are cooking and the smell seems to linger in the house. I bought my mom one when I bought mine and she hated it because of the way it made the house smell.
