Guitar Hero is an awsome game!
Date of Review: Nov 6, 2008
The Bottom Line: I think everyone should give this game a try because it is one of the funnest Play Station 2 games that i have played
The first time I played this game was actually last year at my apartment. I immediately fell in love with this game!! and became addicted to it. I needed to play as much as i could so that i could move on to medium and beat my roomates. I am not a big vidio game player but some games I just really like to play and this is one of them.
Basic Rules of the game.
Guitar Hero is a game where you are the guitar player in the band. The controllers to this game are little guitars that have five buttons where the strings are supposed to be and a joy stick and a strummer piece on the other end. You also have a start button above the joy stick. The five buttons are the colord buttons containing green, red, yellow, blue, orange.
On the Screen you will have five colord circles on the bottom of the screen and then a long strip when the notes come towards you on during a song. On the left is a bar that measures how well you are doing in the song if the bar is all the way down you will fail the song. When the bar is all the way up then you are doing good and will get star power which will double the score of the notes that you get. When you get more and more notes right in a row your score of each note also goes up. the points of each note varies from 1 to 4 depending on how many you get right in a row.
When playing this game you want to first choose a person you would like to be. Then you want to choose a guitar. After you choose a guitar then you can choos a song, the music thats on this game is rock in the 80's it is a very good choice of music for this particular game because it has a lot of guitar notes in these songs. When choosing songs to play keep in mind that the songs on the top of the list are easier than the songs on the bottom of the list. to unlock more songs, people, and guitars to choose from play on career mode. Career mode is when you are in a band play songs to get your band better. The only drawback to a career choice is that it is only one player.
Hold the Guitar accordingly to whether you are right or left handed. when the colored note gets the circle at the colored circle at the bottom of your screen you want to hit that same colored button and strum your strummer at the same time the note hits the colored circle at the bottom of the screen. At first it is hard but the more you play the better you will get. When you get star power you're bar will light up with little blue flames. to get start power rock your guitar up towards your head and that will make you get the double points. when you know you get the star power your notes will turn blue with blue flames.
The sound effects of this game are really good. I like to have the music up loud because it makes me get more into the song and do better. It helps me get the whole effect. The graffics of this game could improve but you dont really pay attention to the graffics when you are buisy trying to get all the notes.
Overall I believe this is a very fun PS2 game and encourage all people to try it out. This game can be very addicting though but it is worth it. It is funner to play two player and battle against your friends to see who the better player is.
