What a TV!!!

I have been researching this (and others Sony Bravia, etc) for months. All it took was one trip to the store to see the difference. This TV has no equal.

I brought it home, easily hooked it up to a REGULAR old fashioned DVD/VCR (Samsung of course), and watched the opening scene from Saving Private Ryan.....my eyes popped out of my head, I am still in awe. I also bought a Samsung Home Theatre, which hooks up to the TV via HDMI and even better results ensued.

I really have nothing bad to say about this TV...well packaged, slick looks with the TOC Red border, the pre-loaded interactive content is OK, but the Gallery really shows off what this TV can do. The colors are extraordinary, the clarity is unreal, and you can adjust whatever you need to nine ways to Sunday!

The side ports are a real advantage, especially the USB port.  Using that and the TV's built in software (Wise-Link), this port will allow you to watch home movies, downloaded movies, family pics and many other formats that will fit on the flash-drive on your TV.

I have Direct TV digital, so the resolution on cable TV is better on some channels than others, it is hit or miss and you will have to play around with the settings - but that is not the TV's fault. I must now fork over the extra money to go Hi-Def....

On the channels where the reception is good, it appears as if the program you are watching is LIVE, really sharp!
However, throw in a DVD and watch this TV EXCEL! ! !

Shop around, you will find a good deal...most retailers still have this TV in the $2100 range (on sale...), but I bought mine for > $1700 and could not be happier.

The only con, is that the stand and TOC Border are a bit of a dust magnet, so keep plenty of Swiffers laying around...most LCD's are like this.  There is the slight Halo effect, as many reviews mention, but you really do not notice it unless you are looking for it.
