A Unique Device With A Secret.
Pros:
Versatility, FM Radio, Equalisation, helpful Tech Support And Neat Design.
Cons:
Poor Battery Life, Inability to display cover art, and terminal battery problem.
The Bottom Line:
I Do Not Recommend it due to its terminal Battery problems, although it seems like a good little player.

I have had this device since late 2007. The Player has many nice features including an FM-Tuner. The Sansa SanDisk Express 2GB has an innovative compact size and shape; Similar to a butane lighter. the power button is located on the top face, and a hold button is situated to its left. The Player can hold about 500 MP3 Songs, and it dosen't skip, like (older) iPods occasionally do. There is also a full equalizer in the settings, a nice feature. The Screen is a 4-line, 2-color display. In my opinion, it is a very good and bright screen with plenty of power for bright-light conditions. Its compact size also makes it great for the excersize room, as there are arm straps for sale that can keep in unnoticable and out-of the way. A MicroSD slot allows a great 4GB Capacity for all your music. The Device even holds audiobooks and came with an offer for a free one!
This MP3 Player has, however, a chronic battery problem.
The lithium-polymer rechargeable battery has a tendency to lose power after a couple of weeks. I do not know if this problem applies to all the players, but it did for me. A normal startup shows "Sandisk", and then shows a logo move across the screen, and then it is on. After shutting it off, and later turning it on, The player would only show "Sandisk", and shut off, to indicate low/dead battery life. Once The problem started, It would show the Sandisk Logo, and shut off. Even after 14 hours of charging, the device would not be charged. Once the computer would shut off, the device would 'think' that it was still connected, and the screen would run 'connected' across it until the battery depleted. After a few days, the charging recognition ceased, and after a hard reset (- Volume while pressing 'down')it would only show an arrangement of pixels as it was plugged in to the USB 2.0 outlet. The battery life (while it was functioning) was also about 1.5 hours of continous play, for me, anyway. Thankfully the Sandisk Customer service was willing to setup an Ebox at their website for me, and accept the device immediately, all expenses paid!
A good device, until you begin to have problems with battery. Although I do not recommend it, it is a great little device overall.
