Scarface - 1983

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2009
The Bottom Line:
“A devil in the flesh a rebel at its best
No complaining we live in hell and I'm blessed, Scarface”
~Lil Wayne
Review: Scarface tells the story of small time hood, Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant that arrived in Miami during the big humanity transfer that Castro initiated. Using the guise of joining families that had been separated, Castro took the opportunity to...

The World Is Yours!

Date of Review:  Nov 21, 2004
The Bottom Line: See the movie for Al Pacino's fantabulous acting!
Review: Al Pacino. Oliver Stone. Brian de Palma.

That pretty much sums up why you should see Scarface. Those of you who aren't convinced yet, read on.

Touched By A Drug Lord

Date of Review:  May 9, 2001
The Bottom Line: Predictability aside, this gripping movie has remained fresh after nearly 20 years. Better than any of the Italian mob movies, and a fantastic performance by Pacino.
Review: Generally, when I think of being ?touched? by something, it?s something nice and cutesy. Being ?Touched By An Angel?. Listening to a sweet, touching song. Sitting on a hill and being touched by a sunset. Hearing my friends complain that, ?that weird...

Greatest Drug Movie of All Time?

Date of Review:  Dec 23, 1999
Review: This was probably vying for the title of 'Greatest Crime Movie' held by "The Godfather" until "GoodFellas" came along and settled the issue. Every Latino punk in the street wanted to be Tony Montana (I *know*, I was leaving NYC for Texas that...

A cartoon-ish world of violence

Date of Review:  Aug 13, 2006
The Bottom Line: Not as good as people make it out to be, but manages to entertain. Scarface is worth a look for every crime movies fan.
Review: Scarface is considered one of the most popular crime movies of all-time, so popular that I have seen dozens of artworks of Tony Montana ranging from t-shirts to paintings. The film is often referenced in music and very often quoted. After years of...

Al Pacino Shines!

Date of Review:  Jan 31, 2000
Review: One of the best gangster films in the history of the silver screen, Scarface vies for awards along with other classics such as the Godfather I, Godfather II, and Goodfellas. Scarface is the story of a Cuban refugee in the times of Fidel Castro, and...

Still Legendary, still up to date. Even over 20 years after release.

Date of Review:  Sep 20, 2003
The Bottom Line: Arguably the best gangster film in the history of cinema.
Review: "Scarface" is one of those unforgettable films. It'll never die. As I write this it's the year 2003, and it's 20 years after the original release. I watched it yesterday, and gosh this film still hasn't lost anything of it's original style. The...

Scarface (1983)

Date of Review:  Apr 4, 2000
Review: Director Brian DePalma?s remake of the 1932 gangster picture "Scarface" is a must-see for all gangster movie fans. DePalma changed Scarface?s character from a Sicilian immigrant in the 1932 picture to a Cuban refugee, but otherwise the plot is...

Say hello to my little friend.....the Scarface DVD.

Date of Review:  Dec 20, 2003
The Bottom Line: Scarface is one of the greatest films of all time, and is Pacino's benchmark in acting. Even the special effects are great, despite this being the movies 20th aniversary.
Review: My father is South American. My mother is white. Could I be Tony Montana and Elivira's son? Probabley not, because criminal imigrant and cocaine lord of Miami, Tony Montana, is not going to win husband of the year. Al Pacino plays the Montana,...

Pacino better as a Cuban than an Italian!

Date of Review:  Nov 22, 2001
The Bottom Line: For fans of the "Godfather" movies, this is a must-see. Pacino gives a fine acting job as a criminal Cuban.
Review: Let me first begin by saying that Scarface is not for everyone. It contains graphic violence, constant profanity, and glorified drug dealing. And I loved every minute of it.

Scarface is a very long movie - over 3 hours. It chronicles the...
